16 September 2014 - On the 23rd anniversary of the rejection of the RP-US Bases Treaty, the Gabriela Women's Party (GWP) believed that the bases have in reality returned in a much worse form under the deceptively worded Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA) recently signed by the Aquino administration.

"Mas masahol pa sa ibinasurang RP-US Bases Treaty itong EDCA, kaya patuloy ang kababaihan sa paglaban dito at paggigiit sa Korte Suprema na ito ay labag sa Konstitusyon," GWP Representative Emmi De Jesus stated.
