Manny Pacquiao na itutok na lamang ang kanyang atensyon sa P125 across the board wage increase at huwag nang patulan ang alok ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) na gawin siyang poster boy sa conditional cash transfer (CCT) program.

IBINASURA ng isang kongresista ang plano ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) na kunin si Pambansang Kamao at Saranggani Rep. Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao para mag-endorso ng programa nitong conditional cash transfer (CCT). Ayon kay Gabriela Rep. Emmi De Jesus:

He was slammed for not supporting the Reproductive Health measure, but boxing champ and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao was lauded for supporting the proposal for a P125 across the board wage hike for private workers.

Gabriela Rep. Emmy de Jesus welcomed Pacquiao’s move to push for the approval of the legislated wage hike.

Pacquiao earlier said that the RH bill is not the solution in alleviating poverty in the country.

“Hindi (RH bill) ang solusyon para sa kahirapan. Ang solusyon sa kahirapan ay sugpuin ang corruption dahil yan ang talagang pumipinsala at nagpapahirap sa mga tao (The RH bill is not the solution to alleviate poverty. Twenty neophyte lawmakers at the House of Representatives on Wednesday expressed support for the controversial Reproductive Health bill, contrary to the position of their fellow first-timer, international acclaimed boxer and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao.

Act Teachers party-list Rep. Antonio Tinio said they are confident the number of lawmakers that would support the bill would eventually grow.

"Sa tingin namin ang mga karamihan sa Congress ay pro-RH bill. Pero sa tingin namin nape-pressure sila na ayaw umiwas sa mga pari kaya ayaw muna nila lumantad," he said.  read more »
