GABRIELA party-list representative Liza Maza showed up for the opening of  the third regular session of the 14th Congress wearing a gown that is meant to express her opposition against the Arroyo administration's press for Charter change.

The Filipiniana gown hand-painted by artist Boy Dominguez was described by inquirer.net as "accentuated with wooden beads and hand-painted golden image of the President, who is shown weaving an embroidery of constituent assembly, while the people below her are strangled by its thread." It is made of katsa, which is usually used to make flour sacks.

According to inquirer.net, Maza will be joining Anti-Arroyo street protests instead of attending the State of the Nation Address at the Batasan Complex this afternoon.
