Gabriela Solon Wants GMA Moved to Regular JaIL

“Why is the former President still in the hospital if she is well? If there is no more urgent and compelling life and death situation for the former President to stay at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center, then the courts should immediately decide on and facilitate her transfer to a regular detention facility.”

This is according to Gabriela Women’s Party Representative Luz Ilagan as VMMC officials revealed that former President Arroyo’s medical condition is now stable and that further treatment and therapy can be availed as an out-patient without necessarily being confined.

“Mrs. Arroyo has enjoyed enough leniency and laxity. The extent and magnitude of the crimes that she has been charged with in court, as well as those that have been yet to be filed by the Department of Justice, make her undeserving of this extra-special treatment,” said Ilagan noting that aside from electoral sabotage, Mrs. Arroyo is also facing several cases of plunder and human rights violations.

The Gabriela solon said that is also imperative that the Aquino administration expedite the prosecution of Mrs. Arroyo for human rights violations and plunder.

“The wheels of justice have been turning in slow motion for the former President. We have had enough of double standards and it is high time for President Aquino to exercise his political will to correct this.” #
